Recipe: English Toffee

Candy Making Fun

I’ve always wanted to try to make toffee.  I never did though thinking that I needed a candy thermometer.  Turns out you don’t!  It’s super easy too!  

How to make english toffee:

Ingredients:

1 cup butter

1/2 cup water

1 cup sugar

1.  Put the butter in a small sauce pan and place on medium heat.

2.  Once the butter is melted add water and sugar.

3.  Stir slowly.  Get a buttered pan ready.

4.  Eventually the mix will start to bubble and golden.  Once golden immediately take off heat and pour mix in pan.

5.  Let cool outside for 5 minutes then place pan in refrigerator for 1 hour.

*Optional* After pouring the mix in the pan you can add nuts, sprinkles, chocolate chips, ect.

There are lots of different ways you can eat the toffee.  You could make Almond roca by putting almonds in the toffee and and spreading chocolate on the top for instance.  I really had fun making and eating English toffee, I hope you do too! 🙂
